Heritage Cruises derives the inspiration for its boutique concept and design from the heritage ships of the patriotic entrepreneur Bach Thai Buoi, who transformed transportation on the waterways of Tonkin in the North of Vietnam in the early 20th century.
Launching in September 2019, Heritage Cruises will offer authentic experiences for 40 guests aboard an architecturally designed boutique river and ocean cruise ship in the Gulf of Tonkin. Amenities include a spa, outdoor lounge, pool and 20 suites with picture windows offering river and ocean views.
As Heritage Cruises’ first true floating four-star boutique hotel, the cruise offers guests high-end service in an unforgettable setting that captures the quintessence of North Vietnam and the classic charm of the 1930s Indochina style.

Heritage Cruises was launched in 2019 by founder, Pham Ha, to fulfill his cruising dream of bringing unparalleled travel experiences, in the utmost comfort, to modern-day explorers cruising the world’s greatest rivers and bays.

Story
A childhood dream
As a teenager, Pham Ha, the co-founder of Heritage Cruises, cruised from Haiphong City to Ho Chi Minh City just a few years after the unification of South and North Vietnam.
A dream come true. Even then he had plans to build his own cruise ships, to have his own fleet, so he could share his passion for his country.
He fell in love at first sight with Halong Bay in 1995 and came to know every single island, sometimes spending a week camping on the isolated beaches and exploring remote islands by kayak.
In 1997 he took a film crew there for 2 months to make the ‘Vertical Ray of the Sun’, a film by the famous director, Tran Anh Hung, which was filmed in Cua Van Floating Village, near Three Peach Beaches, on the frontier between Halong Bay and Cat Ba Archipelago.
His personal mission is to deliver happiness. He is passionate about quality cruising, heritage, culture and history. Pham Ha is recognized internationally in the tourism business and knows the market well. As a result, he initially built a fleet of cruise ships in Nha Trang Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. The building of a new fleet in the Cat Ba Archipelago, the Red River and in the future for longer trips from north to south Vietnam is a continuation of his childhood dream.

Our Logo, Brand Story and Awards
Logo
The logo is simple, elegant and eye catching for high-end travelers. It incites curiosity and the desire to discover the culture, history and nature of the Red River, which originates in the mountains and empties into the ocean.
Set inside a red circle, the white “H” is inspired by the costumes of the delta people of Xoan, whose traditional songs evoke life in Phu Tho Province. The four points of the logo icon address the four seasons in the northern region of Vietnam and the transformation of the universe.
The white “H” in the red circle also refers to the alluvium of the Red River, as well as the element of water. The five elemental energies show tangible activities of yin and yang manifested in the cyclic changes of nature, regulating life on earth. It is also a reference to Hong Ha, one of the names of the Red River, with the color supposed to bring good luck.
The larger Heritage logo is generous and elegant. The font is bold and central, standing strong and creating trust. Its dominant colors are red and gray. Heritage Cruises has designed its logo and icon carefully, ensuring it looks perfect at any size, and even in black and white.
Vietnam’s first boutique cruise on the Red River, the cruise design, the logo, the brand and its slogan have been registered by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam.

There are plenty of social spaces aboard Heritage Cruises.
Upstairs on the Panorama Deck, you will find the ship’s air conditioned Indoor Song Hong Lounge where you can relax comfortably. Sink into a plump couch angled to optimize the engrossing, ever-changing Annamite landscapes streaming in through the floor to ceiling wall of windows.
An air-conditioned, top-deck gym does not allow anyone to miss the view while staying fit. Or you might skip the exercise today and enjoy a sunset from the outside lounge, or cool off in the swimming pool with its bar and private cabanas.
At the White Lotus Spa, guests can relax at the sauna or enjoy a treatment in one of our two rooms. Or for retail therapy, our art gallery and Van Don shop, specialised in antiques and artisanal items, offers a range of original souvenirs.
Heritage Cruises also offers a floating exhibition L’Art de l’Annam featuring the artist Pham Luc, known as the Picasso of Vietnam, plus works of other famous Vietnamese artists in canvas, silk and lacquer art. Guided art tours can be arranged as well as occasional auctions.

Safety on board
Safety features aboard the Heritage Cruises vessel include radio communications with separate battery pack, satellite phone, life rafts, flares and signals, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in each cabin, and an automatic defibrillator.
Small boats for excursions: Two speedboats equipped with two four-stroke low-emission engines stay in constant radio communication with the main vessel. Each boat has a capacity of 20 passengers.
